April's Webinar Meeting
Updated: Apr 5, 2020
Hello, Quilty Friends!
By now, there is lots of information out there about COVID-19 and the related impacts on our community. If you haven't heard, the Memphis Public Library is included in the list of closures until further notice, and the MAMQG board has agreed that the time has come to adjust our plans for the next meeting accordingly.
We were hoping that circumstances would have improved but given the latest guidance from the CDC, we have made the decision to cancel our in-person meeting scheduled for April 19th.
We are acting out of a sense of responsibility to our members and our greater community but we would miss you all too much to cancel completely, so we will be replacing the meeting with a virtual meeting led by guild president Meghan Murphee on a digital platform like Google Hangouts or Zoom. More details will be released in the week before the meeting but please plane to check your email in the hour before our regularly scheduled guild time for a link to the digital meeting. This also means that the Make it Modern Mini Swap will be postponed until the next in-person meeting which will hopefully be as scheduled on May 17th. Additionally, all day on April 19th, we will be hosting an Instagram sew day where we share pictures along with quilting prompts on our guild account @memphisareamqg, sharing craft space tours in our stories and using the hashtag #MAMQGquiltparty In the meantime, wash your hands, stay well and we hope to see you virtually soon!
